Group 8‘s main ambitions include further exploration of the idea of sustainable architecture.
They acknowledge the practicality of digital production and new technologies, and hope that these will free projects from preconceptions and standardization.

The research for new ways in which materials, patterns and textures could communicate both lightness and weight is the way forward for the team, as is the use of solar, passive and low energy systems.

Acht junge Architekten zogen gleichzeitig in die nüchternen Räume der alten Polizeiwache im zentrumsnahen Genfer Gewerbequartier Les Acacias ein. Kurz darauf, im Jahr 2000, taten sie sich unter dem Namen Group8 Architectes zusammen.

Die mittlerweile neun Partner heissen in typisch genferischer Namensvielfalt Laurent Ammeter, Adrien Besson, Tarramo Broennimann, Grégoire Du Pasquier, Manuel Der Hagopian, Oscar Frisk, François de Marignac, Christophe Pidoux und Daniel Zamarbide. Sie sind zwischen 1969 und 1972 geboren und haben an der Universität Genf oder an der ETH Lausanne studiert.
